Lovely Plumage

In case you lost sleep last night worrying about the deer that was reclining in the back yard yesterday -- turns out that unhealthy-looking swatch of white fur was its underbelly.  I could see that when it stood up, regained its lovely tan sides, and dashed away, after having been frightened by -- a squirrel.

  1. The deer that strolled into my back yard this morning and was eying my back vegetable beds like a hungry buffet customer was a lot more frightened. (Of course, unlike the squirrel, I was yelling like a banshee and waving a watering can in one hand and a weeder in the other.) The neighbor across the street told me that the deer bolted around the house and down the street without standing on ceremony. Hell hath no fury like a deer-weary veggie grower!
