I found these anti-squirrel bags on the Internet. They contain something that repells squirrels, keeping them away from the birdseed in the feeders. Or maybe not.
In our back 40 this winter, the bird-feeding next-door neighbor and I have both noticed a decrease in squirrels. There's also been an increase in fox and coyote tracks. Support your local predators!
You may also want to experiment with feeding safflower seed, since squirrels are said not to like it. It's also certainly popular with our cardinals and chickadees.
To serve you better......
ReplyDeleteThat's great! Our neighbor got an outside cat - finally solved our squirrel problem!
